Volunteers at Safe Passage make an extremely valuable contribution towards the work that we do. Safe Passage volunteers assist our clients throughout their case, and once clients arrive in the UK, our volunteers support them to resettle and continue building their life.

In 2016, Safe Passage volunteers were part of the team that helped over 1,000 unaccompanied child refugees to reach the UK, safely and legally.

COMMUNITY MENTOR

At Safe Passage, we strongly believe we have a duty of care to our clients and their families.

A network of Community Mentors across the UK, act as key points of contact for clients in their area. They support clients in the first crucial months following their arrival to the UK, to settle and to begin building a full and dignified life.

Volunteer

INTERPRETER / TRANSLATOR

Do you speak fluent English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Dari, Urdu, Kurdish dialect(s), Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali, French, Greek, Italian?

You could provide crucial assistance to our casework and legal team, in supporting more people to access safe and legal routes to asylum.

If you’re a lawyer…

There may be an opportunity for qualified legal professionals to support Safe Passage, if they also:

  • Speak a second language, relevant to our client group or
  • Are based in a country where Safe Passage has a field team  or
  • Have specialist experience in child/immigration law
