What is the role about?
Safe Passage is looking for a Finance Officer to play a key role in the finances of this newly independent organisation. No legacies of frustrating old systems but an opportunity for a new start to build the best and most effective processes, in an environment that encourages a fresh look at integrating digital systems to maximise efficiency.
Safe Passage grew out of the urgent need for child refugees to access their legal right to reach a place of safety. From the initial aim of helping children in Calais to reach the UK at the height of the refugee crisis in 2015, Safe Passage now has teams in Greece, France and the UK working to open and strengthen safe and legal routes to protection for refugee children, then supporting their first steps to rebuilding their lives. Since we started work in 2015, we have directly helped 200 child refugees to safety and more than 1,800 children have travelled through safe and legal routes we have helped open.
Starting life as a project of Citizens UK, in March 2019 we formally de-merged to enable Safe Passage to expand its exciting cross-border legal work. This is a fantastic time for a Finance Officer to come on board and help set all the processes and systems from the ground up and work with overseas entities to consolidate the group with the Head of Finance and Operations.
