Last year my brother-in-law Masud died in a lorry trying to reunite with me and his older sister in the UK, to reach protection.
We thought when Masud arrived in Calais he would be with us within a couple of weeks, but despite having a legal right to family reunion he waited many months and heard nothing from the Home Office.
Thousands of children wait months at a time, often alone, in refugee camps or sleeping rough across Europe waiting to hear if they can be reunited safely and legally with family in the UK.
When Masud fled Afghanistan we never thought that the dangerous part of the journey would be crossing the UK border.
Please sign this petition to ask Theresa May to make family reunion fast and safe for child refugees like my brother-in-law. So other lives are not wasted.
Help us find a way to give everyone fleeing persecution safe passage. Your donation will be made to Citizens UK and ring-fenced for the Safe Passage programme.Go to Donate Page
