At Safe Passage, we believe that people who have lived experience of seeking sanctuary are the experts in our work. If you have experience of migration and/or a refugee background, we are particularly keen to hear from you and encourage you to apply!
We aim to recognise and value lived experience throughout your time at Safe Passage by providing tailored support during the onboarding, recruitment, and employment phases to ensure that you can progress and develop your professional skills, alongside providing opportunities to influence, advise and voice your opinions as a person with first-hand experience of seeking sanctuary.
At Safe Passage, we recognise the additional barriers people with lived experience may face in accessing employment and are working hard to build a more representative workforce. We are therefore proud to be a member of the EBE employment network movement to create a migration and asylum sector that is led by experts by experience of the asylum and immigration system.
We value positive action at Safe Passage, and therefore guarantee an interview to anyone with first-hand lived experience of the asylum system, as long as you meet most of the requirements for the role.
To ensure that people with lived experience are included in our internal decision-making processes, we also aim to ensure that one of our brilliant Young Leaders is a full member of every interview panel and can influence recruitment decisions equally.
