Theresa May's Pre-Election Pledge To Resettle 20,000 Refugees
The hard work of Refugees Welcome supporters during the general election campaign paid off.
Like hundreds of others across the country, Refugee Welcome supporters got together to hold their Parliamentary candidates to account. One of those candidates was Theresa May.
We asked our candidates to protect the UK’s commitment to resettle 20,000 refugees and Theresa May said yes.
It’s the first time the Prime Minister has publicly committed to continuing resettlement. That’s over 14,000 men, women and children who are now assured of protection because we held the Prime Minister to account.
Across the country we’ve secured commitments from MPs of different Parties to work for a Refugees Welcome Britain.
But we need your help to make sure MPs now follow through on the commitments they made during the election.
