Announcement on leadership at Safe Passage
After more than seven years in the organisation, with five of those years as Chief Executive, Beth Gardiner-Smith will be leaving Safe Passage International in March.
In sharing the news of her departure with staff, Magid Magid, Chair of the Board, said:
“Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to Beth for her constant energy, commitment and thought leadership to both the organisation and the wider sector over many years. Without Beth, Safe Passage wouldn’t be the groundbreaking organisation that it has become and we know that our staff and our supporters will wish her the very best of luck in what comes next.
“This is a hugely important year for us, as we continue to fight against the devastating rhetoric and cruel policies that place refugee lives in danger every day, and ensure our vital legal and campaigning work for safe routes goes from strength to strength. I want to thank our dedicated staff for all their work day in and day out to champion the rights of unaccompanied child refugees, and I look forward to welcoming a new CEO to the organisation very soon”
Beth added:
“I couldn't be prouder of the impact we've achieved together, from policy change to the many families we've reunited. I'm moving on now confident in the knowledge that Safe Passage will continue to go from strength to strength under the leadership of our new Chair Magid Magid, the Board and the incredible passion and expertise of our staff and Young Leaders.”
