Spread love, take action: a Valentine's Day card for refugees
This Valentine's Day, channel your love into action! Whether your MP has broken your heart with anti-refugee stances or warmed it by supporting those in need of safety, it's time to speak up. Safe Passage brings you free print-at-home cards, beautifully designed by Shakiba, a Young Leader who campaigns alongside us for a better refugee system.
Join us in thanking the champions of refugee rights and pushing others to do better after the recent vote on the cruel Rwanda Bill in the House of Commons. Choose between our ‘Love Card’ or our ‘Broken Heart Card’ to make a bold statement and show your love with refugees:
How to participate:
Identify your MP: Find your MP’s details and voting record in our MPs info spreadsheet. (Not sure who your MP is? Find their name using your postcode with this quick and easy tool)
Print your card: If the relevant ‘Vote’ column for your MP reads 'Aye’, print our Broken Heart Card. If they voted 'No,' go for our Love Card. If they abstained, it’s up to you!
Personalise your message: Once printed, cut the edges of your card, fold or cut in two or and glue the faces. Add your name and your MP’s name to the dedicated blank spaces. Feel free to add a personal story or message about why you love refugees or your community's activism efforts.
Send your message: Mail your card to your MP, drop it off at their constituency office, or hand it to them in person. Capture a picture or video and share it with us on social media or via email at campaigns@safepassage.org.uk.
Spread the love: Rally your friends! Share on social media and challenge them to send a card to their MP.
This Valentine's Day, let's come together to show MPs that our communities radiate love and warmth, and refugees deserve to experience that. Join us in flipping the script and reminding everyone that kindness speaks louder than cruelty.
